Safa Departs Back to Libya

On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 14 year old amputee Safa Soud and her father Ibrahim departed from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with Libya as their final destination. Safa arrived on November 23, 2012 to Los Angeles, California to be treated by Shriners Hospital for Children in Los Angeles for a left leg amputation that she sustained during the 2011 Libyan revolution. During her stay in the United States of America, Safa underwent a surgery (learn more about it here) and was fitted with a prosthetic knee and leg. Safa arrived in the USA on crutches and returned home walking. The Children of Libya Aid Foundation would like to express our gratitude to all who made this possible for Safa, with special thanks to Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (LARMH), and all of our friends and donors.
The images below feature Safa saying goodbye to the friends she made at the LARMH during this treatment period. Additionally pictured are Safa and her father at the LARMH and LAX.
